Either of those chasis are lightweight, and the motor would have bolted right in. MWR knows more about these engines than anyone so we start with the freshest engines money can buy (30-60k miles) and replace the lift bolts (often a BIG job! Poor thing only has one BOV tho....sad. Toyota did this for fuel economy, so owners could run 87 gas if they wanted to.
How? See the 2ZZ racing prep page for some ideas on easy upgrades you can and should perform before installing your new 2ZZ if you plan on road racing or autocross. These cars would be FR right? Notice how the OP never responded to the thread. Your MR2 is an SMT model?
- The 1MZ-FE has been done before, but there are better V6 swaps to be done. Mounts – the three transmission mounts are the same for 1ZZ and 2ZZ manual cars. Why did they choose a roots blower? This car might actually be fun! bahahaha since the "mr2" stands for Mid engine, Rear wheel drive, 2.0 liter, if you swapped a 2jz with a fwd setup you would have a "FR3 gte" for front engine, rwd, 3.0 or 3.4 liter.
This would require placing the engine further back by cutting the wall seperating the trunk.
Alternator – the 1zz alternator bolts up fine. . This kind of stuff makes me want anti-thank buttons and ban vote counters (if you feel a member should be banned, click the button and it will be tallied, first to 100 wins!). But for the record this has been discussed and we came to the conclusion that unless you are someone who has a ton of money and time to throw away this swap is close to impossible. If you’re in to drag racing you’ll find your times have gone from low 15’s in the quarter mile to mid-high 13’s. In daily driving you’ll find the engine feels a lot like your old 1ZZ until you hit 6000rpm… when the VVL kicks in you’d better hold on. Around the road course you’ll spend less time waiting for the next corner to arrive and you won’t be spending all of your time waving people by in the straights.
 or us v6 guys???? hey, if you wanted a FR car with a 2jz in it, toyota makes this one called...oh thats right a supra lol. It's possible, you end up extending the rear bout 12 inches.
:lol::rofl::lol::rofl::lol::rofl::rofl: :rofl::rofl::wtf: for all you people on mr2oc also you have prob seen the 2jz mr2 in progress....here is the lik to the forum page... MR2 Owners Club Message Board™ (http://mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=320576&highlight=2jz).
BC Coilovers and poly bushings keeps the AW11's body from moving too much under the new power. I'm just wondering wer is this mr2 at now???!! A wonderful suspension was always bored by the middle-of-the-road 4A-GE motor. jezzzzusss! So you’ve decided to replace your MR2 Spyder’s oil-thirsty underpowered stock 1ZZ-FE with toyota’s high revving 180hp 2ZZ-GE. Well it is after all marked as 2.2.
Go back and bring a little light into our lives once more. 1ZZ stock injectors are too small with either ECU. I just removed the T top and put an IC in it's place. A good used 2ZZ engine is getting harder to find; the untested overseas engines are a real risk. bahahaha since the "mr2" stands for Mid engine, Rear wheel drive, 2.0 liter, if you swapped a 2jz with a fwd setup you would have a "FR3 gte" for front engine, rwd, 3.0 or 3.4 liter.
I put my hand on the intercooler, we were just driving the AW11. We also sell all of the SWAP COMPONENTS engines, bolt-in 6-speed transmissions etc separately for those who want to tailor the package to their tastes. isnt the 3sgte capable of 500+ with that amount? that looks like a rather small shot of nas tho. Most people prefer to upgrade to an MWR or Fidanza unit for quicker response and improved acceleration. If you fill up with regular, you need to push the switch to the "regular" position, and if you fill up with 91-93 octane, you need to push the switch to the "premium" position. Im sorry if someone already asked this question.
"There's a company in New Jersey that specializes in MR2's called 'Prime Performance'," said Habermel. Be rejuvenated. The supercharger's clutch-that-is-not-really-a-clutch moves the blower only when the intake manifold vacuum reaches a specific value. The turbocharger is cooled by a water-to-air cooler that fooled me at first because it looked like some kind of aftermarket intake plenum. In the US, it was the only direct competitor to the Pontiac Fiero GT which made 135-140hp from a 2.8L V6. thats not an mr2 anymore. Roots blowers are good for big American V8's. or should I use a 5s from a camry??/.
If you have an overseas sourced engine then any of the 2000-05 Celica and 2001-06 Corolla manifolds and throttle bodies will work as long as they are cable throttle, not electronic throttle. It is the perfect amount! Lol!!!!
Why did they engineer a tiny roots blower?
